2026 Frosh Schedule
Monday: Welcome to the Swamp!
On this jam-packed day, you will be attending Academic Orientation, hosted by the First-Year Engineering Office. This is where you will get information about your program, setting you on the path of greatness! This leads to our epic Campus Tour (Far Far Away Tours). Your Frosh leaders will take you to hot spots on campus and have surprises at each station. These tours will lead you into lunchtime, where you can explore our Engineering Expo. Here, you’ll be able to learn all of the many ways to get involved in the TMU community; including student groups, design teams, course unions, and chapters! After the ceremonial firing of our Khannon, you will partake in an Egg Launch Competition where each house will design an egg capsule that will be launched using our trebuchet (yes you read that right) in the Quad. The day will close with a Q&A session from our Frosh leaders!
Tuesday: Purpling & Parade
This day is steeped in the rich traditions of Engineering. Show off your dedication to the profession and feel the impact of this noble career by participating in Purpling and dying yourself purple! (or watching your friends and leaders dye THEMSELVES purple 😁) You can then take-to-the-streets with us and join our annual Parade to Toronto’s Centre Island. As we settle on the island, there will be lots of free food, activities, and a whole lot of fun!
Wednesday: Far Far Away Adventure
Prepare for a day filled with fun and creativity! Join the Cardboard Boat Race and compete against other houses to build the best boat and race it in the Recreation and Athletic Centre (RAC) Pool. After a delicious lunch, you will embark on THE Havenger Scunt, where your house will earn points for completing crazy tasks that take you around TMU campus and the downtown area!
Thursday: Fairytale Faceoff
This day is packed with competitions, such as our Free-For-All games, House Competitions, a hardhat decorating station, and our legendary Engineering Game Show. Expect to participate in never-before-seen wild activities, earn points for your house, and laugh your way through the most entertaining game show you’ll ever witness!
Friday: Shinerama!!!
The most important day of any Frosh Week is Shinerama, which is usually brought up in conversation using our MetEng Shinerama Chant: Fridayyy! Shinerama! Shinerama! Fridayyy! Shinerama is a nationwide post-secondary school fundraising event for Cystic Fibrosis. We fundraise through fun and exciting booths laid out on Gould Street. By donating to participate in these booths, all proceeds will go to CF Canada, Cystic Fibrosis researchers, Cystic Fibrosis medications, and much more. The week will conclude with an Iron Pin Ceremony, celebrating the spirit of engineering and highlighting the week’s adventures!
